Permit Information

Permits are required for Zoning Changes, Lot Splits and Combinations, Building, Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing.

• Permit applications are available online and at City Hall.

A building permit is NOT needed when:

• Replacing siding
• New window replacements when not changing size to wider than existing or not needing new headers
• If only one layer of roofing shingles and stripping
• Dry walling or paneling, painting interior/exterior, replacing doors of same size

 Building permits are NEEDED when:

• Any/all structural headers & beams (doors, windows, etc.)
• Cutting away of any wall, partition or portion thereof
• Removal or cutting away of any structural beam or load bearing support or removal or change of any egress or rearrangement of any parts of a structure affecting the egress requirements
• Any/all additions, alterations, roof stripping, demolitions or moving of structure, change of occupancy, usage
• Any/all structural building of any kind, including decks, pools, fences, etc.
• Building permit applications also require a zoning form to be filled out and turned in
